So now I am concerned with this circumstanced even after I get the new cowl that water will still be damaging or destroying my engine one day from water flowing through the cowl over the top of the engine once again. Driving on interstate 95 and all electricity to all panels and power steering shuts off. So I drove back to my office and use the computer to see if anyone else was having these types of problems and what do you know I'm not the only one. The failure was experienced numerous times. My durango currently has 160131 miles on it, and I guess it's gonna stay that way now because it can't move, and I still owe money on a suv that I cannot drive. As it was being towed, I noticed oil leaking from the engine. Saw oil dripping from passenger side of motor and found a hole in the oil pan with part of the connecting rod sticking through it. I brought it to the shop and they determined that it had hydrolocked due to water getting into the intake gasket from the cowl. This water is causing electrical problems. Had to get it towed to a shop where they discovered rain water seeped into the cylinder which blew the rod and pistons due to the heavy rain water coming down the windshield and sitting on top of the engine overnight.
