I would very much hate to find out that the company does not know the problem exists further than 2006. Why do I have to constantly monitor my mileage just to make sure I don't stall or run out of gas when I am driving. I didn't have the money for it at the time. The next day the controls no longer worked. An equipment malfunction or computer glitch? This is a safety issue. The contact mentioned that it took several attempts to remove the key from the ignition. There are local garages that state the problem is the electrical cluster, but Chevy does not seem to think they are in any liable. There are sporadic fluctuations of the needle, but gauge is no longer reliable for determining fuel level in the vehicle.
I am in a cold climate as the other recall is applicable to. I have to shut the car off and restart until it works again. I pulled over, shut the car off and it was still reading 40. Several weeks later there was an issue with the vehicle speakers and that seemed to indicate an issue with the electrical in the car. The vehicle has not cut off one time. Sometimes the system was operational and he was able to use it, for a short time. I recommend checking craigslist for a local person, because this is a very common problem.
While en route my speedometer was reading 10mph over my actual speed. Because of the faulty gas gauge, one never knows when or where you will run out of fuel. So we found shade and waited for cool down.

The approximate failure mileage was 195,000. I would highly recommend you to anyone that needs their speedometer fixed. There were no prior warnings.
The gauges are of most concern as the true values of fuel level, oil pressure, battery voltage and engine temp are rarely accurate or even close. This is a serious problem that seems to be prevalent in several years of the Trailblazers existence and could be a very dangerous situation especially if the computer decides to shut the truck down at an inopportune time. You have saved me hundreds of dollars. It's just a matter of time before an individual or an entire family is seriously injured or killed because of the faulty sensor. I sent gm a letter with a copy of the repair bill along with documentation of the many complaints I found online with the same issue. The vehicle has not cut off one time.
Speedometer specializes in their repair. And by the way I have already had the cluster replaced just 2 years ago because of a winding noise and then a year later it acts up. The contact stated that the speedometer failed to operate normally without warning. Thanks again for your service. I have had the inspection completed multiple times with a mechanic re-assuring the issue although it has been happening frequently. The gas gauge always shows that the tank is empty even after a fill up, which could cause you to run out of gas, and get into an accident. It started with my speed odometer gauge stopped working then over that following year eventually all the gauges stopped functioning. They rebuild the entire cluster the guy said that all the gauges in the instument cluster are driven by the same type of motors and that I should replacce all of them before the were out.
So I never know when I get in my car if it is going to work correctly or not. I reached out with a phone call and was told the issue did not warrant a recall. I'm so frustrated because this will make the 3rd time we would have to pay for this out of pocket! Unforutunately for most people I think the warranty was limited to 7 years and 70,000 miles. Had no idea how fast I was going and the melted wires are plain dangerous.
