Clean out inside the hub and install new bearing and seal. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The dealership denies any responsibilities for the problem. The truck had 44K miles on it. To remove inner bearing ,prop hub on a board and use a large punch to drive out bearing and seal. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.
I have a lifetime powertrain warranty and took my truck to Charlie's Dodge in Maumee, Ohio for a minor rear differential leak. The failure mileage was 73,853 and the current mileage was 74,137. The bearing races will need to be removed from the rotor to do this use a punch and hammer once the rotor is removed. Wheel off check the disks are they pitted, rusted or scored. The manufacturer was not notified. The hub on these trucks is the rotor.
Raise the front of truck off the ground,block the rear tires. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the front driver's side wheel separated from the vehicle as the wheel caught on fire.
