The problem is intermittent and seems to mostly occur when the transmission is hot. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the cdt transmission failed and needed to be replaced. My wife broke down in the mountains of Oregon! Transmission not shifting properly causing the car to be sluggish. Since you never know when this delayed acceleration will occur it is very dangerous to enter or cross traffic when it occurs. They call me later that afternoon and they admit there were high gear issues that were resolved with resetting the transmission computer but they can't find the source of the low gear problems these gears are usually the ones in use at higher speeds. I bought the vehicle brand new on Feb 23, 2006, it has had numerous mechanical defects from day one. This has happened 3 times in the last 6 months after driving the car for about 20-30 mins. I tried to turn the car off and on just to get the car moving out of the traffic.
