What I liked most about this film was the constant change of events. Detective Gun-Soo's hard day is just beginning. I wanna congrat the screenwriter first for having such a creative mind to put all these big events in order and only in 24 hours! The suspense in this film was off the charts. The man is dead and Detective Gun-Soo panics. A Hard Day, what an understatement.
I particularly enjoyed the endless climax, which keeps you on the edge of your seat and leaves you breathless afterwards. Detective Gun-Soo Lee Sun-Kyun skips out on his mother-in-law's funeral to attend to a crisis at the police station. The man's an abrasive bully who uses all the power at his disposal to evade punishment for something that technically probably wasn't even a crime. The main guy Go Geon Soo must have really ticked someone off in a previous life. The movie did a good job of navigating the story as it became more and more complicated. The long sequence in the room with the coffin is a masterwork of tension, and if the rest of the movie can't quite equal that high, then it does a very good job nonetheless. This was a great suspense movie.

Making things worse, on his way to his mother's funeral, Geon-soo commits a fatal hit and run and then, desperately tries to hide the accident by hiding the man's corpse in his deceased mother's coffin. With the body in his trunk, he returns to the funeral and manages to seal the body into his mother's coffin while escaping detection. This premise is just the set-up for a film that comes off as a string of sometimes awesome set-pieces. . To be fair, Geon-soo does have some interesting characteristics,.
Geon-soo's job is to enforce the law, yet he shows no respect for it himself, expecting special treatment as a matter of course just because of who he is. But someone has been watching all along, and Geon Soo gets a mysterious call from a person claiming that he was the sole witness to the crime, who now begins to threaten him. I realized there could be someone worse as his nightmare escalates in an instant. He could be a sweet and caring neighbor for all anyone knows. Fearing manslaughter charges, as he is intoxicated, Ko declines to call the police and hides the body from a passing patrol car.
But someone has been watching all along, and Geon-soo gets a mysterious call from a person claiming that he was the sole witness to the crime, who now begins to threaten him. He tries to cover-up the accident by hiding the man's corpse in his deceased mother's coffin. It has something to talk about! But when Geon-soo gets a mysterious call from a person claiming to be the sole witness of the crime, he realizes that someone has been watching him all along. Yeah, I felt bad for the poor loser. And I wanna thank Jo Jin Wook for showing his great acting skills as he always does! Then on his way to his mother's funeral, he drives recklessly and commits a fatal hit and run. Then the whole scenario changes as the story develops. Arguments are welcome, fights are not.

It was a turning point for me because it shifted my focus and changed what I thought about the main character. Despite his stress, Detective Go could be pretty clever. The crazy psycho man is played by Cho Jin Woong.
Though it was interesting to see some of the ceremonial rites of Korean funerals, I found the funeral sequence especially appalling. Doo-sik's employee Tae-jeong played by also suffers from financial issues and is desperate for some kind of solution. Why don't you give me a heart attack?
