It changes when the computer opens it rather than changing the base opening temp. Car runs fine but constant errors like you wouldn't believe , 1 of them even fell apart less than a week after install. I do not know yet whats wrong, but beein aware about the weep hole issue; I started to search for the woert case scenario fix. You never really know how hot the car is getting. Yeah, they gave it back to me knowing that the weep hole was still leaking, but the instructions said go 200 miles.
I took a kitchen knife not sure which type, just had about the right length and cut it out. There are in fact two o-ring seals but they are at opposite ends of the coolant pipe. They say to fix the problem, it requires removal of the front of the engine and timing cover case. The valley which the valley pan covers is supposed to have coolant running through it, so it will be full of coolant when you remove the cover. Connect the fuel hose 3 to the fuel line T. At idle i'll shut the car down. While searching for information on water pump replacement, I stumbled across the Bimmer Fix product, and I was literally wide-eyed at its simplicity. Just look at pictures 3-6 on the bottom row of the front web page of bimmerfix site, I think it should be silly obvious from picture 6 how the stent is an inner sleeve than traverses the O-ring on both sides.

Thanks The stent goes inside the coolant transfer pipe and is supposed to be sealed with silicon along the entire length of the stent. The Biimerfix Stint merely reinforces this from the inside and prevents the coolant from reaching the seal. The additive is more for secondary leaks that may also be present and is what takes the additional time to seal. Don't skimp on the thermostat. I'd really like to get in there with a borescope and see what happened.
I'm leaving my car until Monday to fill with coolant and check for leaks, I will put it all back together tomorrow Sunday. No leak and my 745 runs like a champ. A silicone sealant is applied to the stint and the tube before insertion and this creates a water tight bond. I think I may be experiencing this issue with my 7. It will be interesting to see what things look like when the current transfer pipe is removed. Water was allowed to cool to 89. I had no issues til a couple months ago my T-Sat went out. Cutting corners by using poorly made parts can result in costly comebacks and the loss of valuable time.
