It's like stumbling out of bed in the morning not exactly sure what you're going to do that day. It sucks because you can see the distance between them, when they are at blows with each other. All in all, I'm very much looking forward to the next episode. Now he is at the head of a team consisting of four people, including him. Pure entertainment, nothing more, nothing less. Bring in Patrick Jane for an episode, then they can all chase Red John around Oahu or an hour, or is that too 'Mental' for ya Brudda? The new version just gives us periodic quick flashes of scenery some of which look like they are not real shots but artificially created ones.
Their acting ability and range would allow for big screen versions of the show. I thought it odd that Hawaii 5-0 would open with a scene in South Korea. Why change the sex of Kono? They deliver without turning this into Baywatch. If you were a fan of the original, you won't be disappointed at all. Why call the two leads Steve McGarrett and Danny Williams when their age, appearance, mannerisms, behavior, and above all their relationship bear no resemblance whatsoever to Jack Lord and James MacArthur? The actors aren't Hollywood good-looking.
When recreating characters from an original series, it's inevitable that there will be viewers who object to the substitutes. Guy who's been convicted of taking bribes has a cousin who is now in the police force? By the way, speaking to the post-55 demographic: You have decent viewer numbers, so you if you want your old timey shows, then you're going to need to pony up the money and buy what sponsors advertise, that's the only way you'll get respect. I bet money that one of the story lines down the road is where Danno's ex-wife's husband turns out to be some kind of crime figure and Danno busts him and get's his wife back. Makes for a fun show which also does not take itself too seriously. The new reboot of Hawaii Five-0 is first rate from start to finish. McGarret shows up and the governor just gives him carte blanche to do whatever the hell he wants no matter if it is legal or not? Had the producers started fresh with new characters, but kept the spirit of the original formula intact, there would be less tendency to compare the two series; each would stand on its own merits. Oftentimes the show gels between the pilot and the follow-on episodes since there's so much time in-between to refine it, incorporate feedback and develop even more on-set chemistry between the actors.
I'm also excited because this episode was quite good and it was only the pilot. Like a lot of people we were looking forward to the new series of Hawaii 5-0 but i have to say that after 2 episodes i am not sure i can watch it again. Anyone who loved Jack Lord will find Alex O'Loughlin a poor substitute for Steve McGarrett. The finale was awesome and as usual, I loved every minute of it. I was a huge fan of the original Hawaii Five-O, so when I heard about this attempt at a new show, I was excited but skeptical at the same time. This show is ideal for the holy grail 25 through 45 year old demographic.
. My brain can't take it! The dialog and some of the background setup Danno's family situation, for example was a bit too cliché. Having been there twice myself, I believe that every American should see this true paradise. Hawaii Five-0 is an American police procedural drama television series and a re-imagining of the original 1968—80 television series. Hire more qualified people, it's worth it. It's also not its father, and anyone looking for a straight remake of the original classic is setting themselves up for disappointment.
Outdoors: That's just how they roll on that island. Excellent action sequences, great gun fights, some entertaining relationships developing between the characters, and you know what? His chemistry with Scott Caan makes the series. Now we are introduced to the new Five-0 and what a pleasant surprise! Grace Park is absolutely gorgeous! You find out little bits here and there and already starting to get a better understanding of how a character is the way he or she is. The plots of each episode move very quickly, and I am able to pick up new things watching an episode a second time. All four of the major characters were well chosen and show a great range of emotions, allowing for considerable character development.
But then again it is not a documentary. Overall verdict: no better than the other crime dramas currently on the air but certainly promises room for improvement. It's on location on beautiful Oahu, with little studio time in it. I remember with particular pleasure the the three part series on the Vashon crime family and the attempts of first Harold Gould as the father and then Luther Adler as the grandfather to destroy McGarrett because of the death of the grandson. Molokai, Kauai, and rural areas of Oahu have all been displayed in a beautiful radiant fashion. Unfortunately, episode two has just confirmed my fears that the producers have gone for the easy option of buff guys and gals, nice scenery, nice cars and lots of noise in place of a decent story and any attempt at character development.
The overall storyline for the pilot was excellent, though. He is a master of his craft, and his experienced eyes can not hide from any criminal. If they had made a show identical to the original I would have probably turned it off half way through. If the producers want to use the original theme song, then why shorten it? Now for the pilot episode. Just select the season below and enjoy high speed safe downloading without torrents and ads. He hasn't the same charisma.
Steve and Danno's bantering with each other is hilarious. Yep, it's called story-arc remember the key he found in the tool box? Danny, Chin Ho, Kono is a wonderful staff working under the direction of Steve. A stunning beauty and great actor as well. What kid tries to say their dad's first name before learning daddy? I've never seen the original series, so that's why maybe I like it so much, since many who've watched both the original and remake aren't very happy. Face it folks, action, quick cuts and tight editing are here to stay.
