Sin E and several other Cork pubs make a point of carrying a range of beers from the two local breweries, Rising Sons and Franciscan Well, which are a nice change of pace from the ever present stout. The live traditional music sessions are the draw. A unique park landscape connects the city center with the Veste, one of the most beautiful castles in Germany, and one of the places in which Martin Luther translated the Bible. Apparently this is common practice in Ireland. To say standing room only would be a huge understatement.

To be clear, by band I actually mean group of strangers that showed up at the bar with instruments. Talk about an Irish pub! For the best sounds, head there on Tuesdays from 9. They also have regular traditional music sessions that attract world class players. So if you do, why not book yourself a bed at one of our affordable holiday hostels in the city and head out to enjoy! It is smaller so if you do not get their early on weekends it will be packed with no place to sit. That's when I have a change of heart about this pub. At the front of the bar was a table of red-nosed, older men and a few younger men mixed in, all with different instruments from an antique button box to a flute, drinking pints and shots of whiskey between songs, and the entire bar lulled into a wonderful drunken stupor by the continuous sounds of their music. This family run pub since 1994 has hosted many talented musicians and artists. Coburg was rated place 14 in the Prognos Future Atlas 2013. It's quite the hidden gem, and well worth the visit. Especially when it comes to cities like Cork. The best time that I had here was finally grabbing a small table, crowding around the makeshift candle in the whisky bottle, and talking over candlelight and having a beer with your friends.
We split our time between the 2 levels, going down for pints and to watch the band for a few minutes at a time. This was our first stop in Cork and we absolutely love it! And this place is it when it comes to Trad music. Four nights per week are of the traditional Irish variety, and the remaining three keep it local and brilliant by featuring local Irish artists. The former residence city of Coburg — small in size but unusually rich in architecture — is an ideal location for students who desire a high quality of life as well as quality in learning in a comfortable environment. Now, that is not to say I understood everything they said - after a few beers the elderly gentleman's Irish accent got thicker, the music got louder, and my level of understanding got lower. It is the original home of the Murphys Folk Club, Cork, and is currently the home of Lee Delta Blues Club. Feels like a community living room downstairs, with the low light and red hue from the lighting, walls, and decor. After 2 weeks of road tripping around, this is the only one I truly loved. There is not a lot of room to roam since it is quite small. Great spot on the Northside of the River Lee.
Lots of relocated from other parts of Ireland Irish here. The beer selection is local and lovely, and the interior design is like taking a small walk-through of souvenirs from anyone who has ever visited, be it a t-shirt from Australia, a poster for Iceland, a scarf from France, or a keyring from America. The only problem is if you're a smoker because the smoking area is outside the front door; ever notice how the wife or girlfriend always happens by when your on the street, just outside a pub door. The upstairs was a great getaway from the live music for something quieter. We came to Cork as part of our vacation in Ireland and our AirBnB host, who seemed to know pretty much everything about this beautiful city, recommended that we spend some time here to hear some live music.
