I cringed when I saw the episode synopsis- I just knew it was going to be exactly the way it was portrayed. Gloria that had a successful company and raised a child on herself in a harsh environment? Modern Family has always appealed to liberal sensibilities, but this episode was so over the top and heavy handed with it. I have loved almost every episode of this show, even when most everyone didn't, but this episode was just bad in my opinion. I find myself watching this show and wanting to shut it off after about 5 minutes. This engaging new comedy offers a mockumentary view into the complicated, messy, loving life of three unique families. So many characters just came right out and talked about discrimination to the point where I felt I was watching an educational program.
Mitchell Dunphy and his enthusiastic partner Cameron have just adopted Lily, a precious little baby girl from Vietnam. I think they're slowly pushing out the people like you and me, I hate reading the negativity after enjoying each episode. People can have dissenting opinions without triggering you into pressing the downvote. Jay Pritchett met the stunning Columbian Gloria when she bartended in a bikini at the pool party he threw for himself the day his wife left him. For me, the show loss it's magic after season 4. Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd invite you into the sometimes warm and sometimes twisted embrace of modern day families.
It was just bad writing in many, many areas. . God, where has the regressive left got that it now even makes me throw up during a show. Meanwhile, Jay and Phil are at odds on how their parking lot attendant, Joan, should be running their lot, and jealousy ensues when Pam prefers Mitchell's help over Cam's with her baby. I guess maybe it's time to just stop watching.
Like it is but holy pushing your agenda without even sticking to the what makes your show good. Modern Family Season 8 Episodes. Everyone seems to hate it but they watch every episode and spend their time complaining. Clare used to be one of my favorite characters, and now she's like a caricature of herself. Now Jay and Gloria are married and Jay tries hard to keep up with his much younger and hotter wife and her passionate teenage son, Manny.
It's too bad- there's plenty to be funny with but they choose to play to the same schtick every episode. Gloria, Claire, Haley, Alex, Lily, Luke and Manny are equally committed to showing their support for gender equality and the women's movement in very different ways. A half-hour comedy shouldn't have me this, uhhh, what's the word I'm looking for? I'm starting to notice things I didn't before, is this brainwashing?! I don't know why Modern Family felt that they needed an episode solely pushing feminism, but even if there was a good reason they could've done it with more tact. I'm not really pissed, or angry, more confused and dismayed. And the episode wasn't very funny, so I almost feel like they are trying to make up for the lack of humor by championing liberal causes. I'm guessing the limousine liberals will love it though, and nominations will still happen. Like it wasn't even funny.
I think it's time to take it off the One Pass. They've got to be dropping like a rock strapped to a cinderblock. Each episode seems to be drifting further and further from the formula that made this show what it was, without any growth whatsoever on plots or character development. I feel sort of pandered to. I guess it's hard to make a consistently funny season year after year for 8 years. Worse is that Cam really sees no problem with it. Someone please remove this cancer from the world.
Sorry for the vent lol. A half-hour comedy shouldn't have me this, uhhh, what's the word I'm looking for? Just saying stuff because feminism is good. I'm not really pissed, or angry, more confused and dismayed. The heavy handed feminism was absurd too. Claire Delgado is having a hard time raising her own family. Any idea what their market share looks like? It's no where near as funny as it once was, not even close.
As soon as I saw feminism rally I already foresaw the possible cringe incoming, and then when Manny's friend started talking I couldn't believe the writers could even fathom such bullshit, and before her saying all that bs they try to make her look smart by saying she's an honor student. . . . .
